I think that was my 4th photo session at basford Hurst Cottage Studio, and that is for sure my new personal record, to work in the same studio more than 3 times.

this place for me is amazing and I try to use only some parts of the location each time taht suit the art concept and model that I work with.

Because I am always happy there, and hospitality from Leanne and Simmon is top class, there is no reason why I should not be back there around December this year again

I had the absolute pleasure of attending an event at Basfordhurst Cottage recently at a group event and let me just say its one of the most beautiful places I've had the pleasure of coming across - so much versatility in one cottage! Leanne gets bonus points also for the lovely welcome sign, changing room for models, and just her accommodating nature while was there. If I get the opportunity to I'd definitely go back there!

Had a group shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage today, what an amazing place to shoot I can't wait to get back and shoot there again. There are so many great spaces to shoot from an elegant dining room...bedrooms, bathrooms and...outdoor space. There is plenty of natural light to those that like to shoot that sort of thing and Leanne was a fantastic host.

I highly recommend Basford Hurst Cottage to anyone looking to get some great shots.

Another enjoyable shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio; studio spaces were clean and tidy as ever and ready to go. Leanne always make you feel very welcome and is there to assist if required on any matters studio related. If there was a Trip Advisor rating, it would certainly get 5 stars!

It was a nice touch to have a named welcome in the models changing area for Tia.

Highly recommended.

Wow what a place,I got the pleasure to shoot at basford hurst cottage today,such an amazing place beautiful inside and out,the decor through out the building is amazing and is absolutely spotless throughout,I was welcomed with a big smile and a cup of tea from the host,I can’t wait to come back and shoot again lovely place and lovely people thank you for having me 100%+ recommended x

Full day with two bookings a duo with Miss_C and a couple of sets with Lady_TXOXO...

The dining room set the scene for an irreverent look at the Catholic church, nuns and vicar... 🤣 The natural light worked a treat for this set, casting honey tones across the room aided a little with wall lights, no need to unbox the lights...

Next was the outbuilding with the fantastic Lady_TXOXO, my revision of the USSR propaganda posters of female strength... The building is dirty, grimey full of shit and a great joy to use, I absolutely adore the space just a pity the natural light was so intermittent the lights came out for some of the shoot..

We then moved to the drawing room using the large window as a frame and the chaise lounge... Again the natural light poured in to this room beautifully...

With the exception of my own couple of blunders the day in so many ways was a success

Today was my second visit to this stunning location this month. It remains beautiful.

This time I shot with JohnRob.

I love how Leanne organises the model room. If you like chocolate you’ll be thrilled. The little personalised welcome sign for each model is a lovely touch.

As the day was warmer we used the outside areas which was a nice addition to the day.

This location studio offers such wonderful opportunity for a shoot. Full of lovely nooks and crannies and places to make wonderful images.

Thank you to Simon who hosted us for the day. Great tea.

Today I had my fourth shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage with the lovely Elodie Rose.Although the weather was mixed we managed to shoot both inside and outside and get some good images.The shooting opportunities are endless in the many different rooms as well as the large outdoor area.Simon was the host on the day and we were well looked after.Once again I would definitely recommend Basford Hurst Cottage.

Wow what a place! It really is incredible and at a fantastic hire price too you have so much choice!

Leanne picked me up from the train station and was very welcoming and made cups of tea and had biscuits, I was happy she had my favourites jammie dodgers!

The dressing room was very cute and I had a personalised welcome plaque with my name on which was lovely.

So many awesome places to shoot and so much space to shoot with stunning features and fireplaces, the possibilities are endless. It’s beautiful bright and just a fantastic place!

Thank you so much for having me Leanne and Simon and I’m 100% coming back again soon! Especially because the weather wasn’t on our aside to do many outdoor shots, but we did get some!

If you have not hired out this place to shoot then you need to go and do so! Highly recommended by me!

I had been meaning to book Basford Hurst for quite some time but as it is a long drive from home it needed careful planning and the right choice of models. The house first attracted me because of its Arts & Crafts styling and it was even better in reality than I had expected.

Leanne keeps the largest part of the old house free for shooting and so the windows, fireplaces, stairs and wooden floors and walls are all easy to use without having to move lots of personal items which is a bonus.

Although the weather was bad on the day and the light was very poor in general, I found that the large windows provided more than enough light for my signature moody images.

Leanne was a wonderful host keeping me supplied with tea and biscuits and nothing was too much trouble.

All-in-all a brilliant day and I promised Leanne that I would definitely be back. My only regret is that I don't leave closer because if I did I would book the house on retainer - it's that good!!

Definitely recommended. No ifs or buts. The house and Leanne are perfect.

I had my first shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage on a Lighting Workshop last Sunday.

Wow what a wonderful location. There are so many different areas inside and out to use. Leanne was a great host and makes a lovely mug of coffee. You are made to feel at ease as soon as you walk in. I can recommend this location to any photographer or model and I will be using it again in the near future.

What a place!

I'd hoped to get to one of Leanne's original opening events but had needed to cancel. It was great to get the chance to finally get to such a fantastic location for an Owen Lloyd/ Nicole Rayner location lighting workshop.

Owen and Nicole know it really well and both worked to get the very best out of the areas we chose to use on the shoot. However, it's clear there are SO many more options/shots/ideas you could create in and around the house. No wonder it has become so popular!

Leanne is an excellent host as well, which made the visit even more complete. I certainly hope to return in the near future!

What an amazing location, so much scope there to be creative.

My first visit and on a workshop with Owen and Nicole so we had some amazing guides to help us pick out some amazing spots.

Leanne was also on site to assist and was as welcoming and helpful as a host could be

I don't think I can add anything new to Basford Hurst's reputation because I think, many others, like me, have commented extremely favourably on this location/studio and there are only so many ways to say and do that before repetition sets in. That's how justifiably highly it is regarded by it's clients, and I'm afraid I can only reiterate what myself and others have said before.

It is, for me, the ultimate location/studio, run by two of the nicest people I know. Communication and facilities are first class and a credit to Leanne and Simon. There are untold numbers of possibilities both within the house itself, and in the grounds, to create wonderful images in whatever genre you wish.

In the words of the song Basford Hurst is 'Simply the Best' and I look forward to shooting there many more times in the future. (And if fact am already booked to do so.)

My first visit to Basford Hurst, and what a superb studio/location it is. Lots of opportunities to shoot with natural light inside and also some great rustic outbuildings and outside spaces to utilise.

My shoot was with host/model Leanne (and she is a great host), where we started inside using the lights with grids, then progressed to natural light areas… the red rustic staircase is such a great spot to shoot using natural light.

The shoot continued in the outbuilding, again using natural light generated by the windows and larger doors.

We got some very cool and contemporary shots on the day, was absolutely delighted with the results.

Can’t wait to get back there one day… it’s 10/10 from me!

I have seen so many fab images at Basford I decided to book a shoot there myself .

I was lucky enough to book Leanne for my visit who runs the studio and is a sensational model.

What an amazing studio location

The house is a wash with internal locations and pools of glorious light . The Rich tones of the wooden flooring and panneled rooms mix with the smooth contemporary feel of the room next door.

to do justice to the interior rooms alone it would take me a week to photograph a model here.

I didn’t even get to use the garden or woodland area .

But to me the jewel in the crown is the garden shed with its rustic feel OMG what a place .

I’ve photographed a few places but honestly have never come across such a universal place as good as what Basford Hurst Cottage as got to offer.

I would highly recommend this amazing studio and location .

I was so excited to visit Basford again after my last trip up north last year, and I wasn't disappointed! Two days at this fantastic location just flew by - Leanne couldn't be more helpful, accommodating or friendly and has made a creative haven for models and photographers alike. The house is stunning and boasts beautiful natural light even on overcast days, with plenty of shooting options even if the weather doesn't allow you outside. I've already booked another visit for September and can't wait to come back. Thank you so much for everything!

I had the pleasure of shooting at Basford Hurst Cottage after booking one of the studio days advertised, shooting with Sinopa Rin. It was my first time at the cottage and Leanne (owner) was on hand to provide a walk around both inside and out as well as a tour through each of the rooms. There is plenty of lighting / light modifiers on hand to use but the beautiful natural light that's available throughout the cottage lends itself for lots of artistic shots.

This was a location on my bucket list and I'm very glad to have finally shot here, I'll no doubt be returning again and have no issue in shouting praise for both the cottage and hospitality provided by Leanne - who also ensures you don't go thirsty!

Delightful! I had the joy of shooting at Basford again, this time with the wonderful hostess Leanne (Miss_C). Such a wonderful location, we shot indoors this time around the house. The big windows downstairs are just fabulous for some natural light shots, and there is plenty of space to get a variety of shots and angles. The bathroom is lovely with a lovely shape to the bath so we shot there, along with one of the light and airy bedrooms. There are so many great areas to shoot in, we only shot with a selection, as well as the fabulous grounds that I shot in last time.

And of course as you will see time and time again in the references here, Leanne is a wonderful, friendly and caring hostess and always makes shooting here a joy with her sidekick Simon also being chatty and friendly making you feel most welcome at the studio. Fantastic location and hosts, highly recommended!
