On Thursday, November 16th 2023, I had my first shoot with Yondertreker. We have been talking for a while about working together, and after a lot of excellent pre-shoot communications, the shoot happened at Black Star Studios in Birmingham, with the photographer Gordon 48 behind the lens. The shoot went well, and we were able to go through many scenes from a strict boss to a stricter Santa. Yondertrecker's skills as an actor and a model were great to be able to use, and I would like to recommend him as both a model and a fellow creative. He was interesting and easy to get on with, able to both follow directions and to give his own ideas, with plenty of energy and charm.

Another informal shoot with David who I have been working with for three years now. He is quick to adapt to many locations but particularly down the pub. Your round.

Had my first shoot with Dave, he arrived on time & ready to shoot. Dave is a lovely chap & gave 100% during the shoot enabling me to get exactly the images I required. I totally recommend Dave as he is a professional model.

An informal shoot at Welland Park, Market Harborough. David is equally at ease on location as he is in the studio. He is very flexible, affable and takes direction well. He is especially good for the more quirky and humorous kind of shoot and works well with dogs though is nervous about water.

A very enjoyable shoot at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire. David was on time, dressed appropriately and displayed his usual confidence working on location in public. His ingenuity, enthusiasm and pleasant manner help make any shoot with him a real collaboration. He was even happy for Chase the border collie to take a temporary starring role.

My fourth shoot with David. On time, affable and well-prepared, after a cup of coffee, he tried hard to look unobtrusive at Leicester market. A demanding location, but he was game and uncomplaining. By the griffin fountain he continued with the same undirected poses while I took shots from a distance - with greater success this time.

David is adaptable and shows enthusiasm for any new project, one good reason I keep re-booking him. It's steam trains next.

David was punctual and arrived as well-prepared as ever. This was meant to be an hour-long shoot between coffee and a pub lunch and an editing session, but was voluntarily extended after a slip-up on my own part.

This was our third location shoot but I was still surprised how easily he could shift from affability over a glass of Guinness to the watchfulness of the retired gunman. He is a grand-master of atmosphere and sensitive to props - how many models would go into a bookies and try to blag a copy of the Racing Post (the newsagents had all sold out) to change the tone of a shot?

A second memorable shoot with yondertrecker - and a productive one. You only need to compare spontaneous shots of David to the shots in character to see how good he can be. He worked his way from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to Che Guevara with aplomb, taking in the scholar-aesthete, muscle-man and Wee Tam along the way and was constantly trying to work out what it was I wanted.

Vigour, sensitivity and enthusiasm are key qualities. How many other models would research a photographic source we used once the shoot was over?

A preliminary shoot at period gardens located by yondertrecker in Market Harborough followed by an editorial session over lunch and a pint made for a perfect day. Bringing along his newly-acquired flat cap, David moved easily from proud head-gardener to estate manager to Lord Lucan with considerable ease. He has a fluid questing intelligence and can do tough and tender, hunter and pony with conviction and once he had seen the shots, new ideas began to flow.

Do not miss out on this thoroughly English model and his whiff of Gauloises.
