Ha. This has gone to form quickly!

The question was - can there be separate group forums for Models and Photographers?

The answer was - There already is.

Not sure where all the other noise came from!

There are indeed Jon but many have more than one account type which kinda defeats that i would imagine. i could be wrong :-)

ANDY00 indeed they do, as I pointed out in the first reply to this post.

However there aren’t that many photographers who also have model accounts (there are more models with photographer accounts - see separate ‘modelographer’ thread)

He's bigging himself up. He's actually using 800mm on 10x8". ;-)

You know it's going to be a 20 pager when your email inbox gets swamped with post notifications! :-D

ANDY00 things are better if you block some people.  I only saw that one because you replied to it, but yes there's always going to be someone who thinks they hear the clip clop of hooves as someone suggests that the models are brittle specimens who need special looking after.  There *is* some behaviour which falls short of "being nice to everyone regardless", but doesn't meet the threshold for admin action.

[by safe]  I mean as in "feel comfortable enough to have an opinion without feeling smothered by over-assertive individuals" :)

Ah, so not "safe", in the normal usage but free from consequences.  "I think [some group] should be free to express any opinion in public, but not have to hear the contrary opinion".

If you go to the create-new-group page, you can create a group for any specific account type or types you choose. So it does rather look like the desire to be seen to be looking out for models outran the curiosity to find out what's in place, and you may trigger comments which will need a thick skin.
